Apple HomeView 2026

By Laura Anderson, Welp Magazine. Published and last updated October 28, 2026.

Apple HomeView is finally here. It is Apple’s first smart display, and it costs $299. Apple announced it at its “Welcome Home” event on October 13, 2026.

Mashable calls it the first entirely new Apple hardware category since the Vision Pro. So should you preorder it? Here is where to buy Apple HomeView, what it does, what it costs, and who should wait.

Quick Facts: Apple HomeView

  • What it is: Apple HomeView is Apple’s first smart display, with a seven-inch screen on a speaker base.
  • Price: $299 for both the tabletop and wall-mounted models.
  • Release date: Preorders are open now. Shipping starts Friday, November 13, 2026.
  • Where to buy: Apple and Amazon.
  • Chip: Apple’s A18, with Siri AI built in.

What Is Apple HomeView?

Apple HomeView pairs a seven-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen with a domed, HomePod-style speaker base. A stainless steel hinge lets you tilt the screen. That makes it easy to use on a counter or a nightstand.

It runs on Apple’s A18 chip. The screen reaches 500 nits in a bright room. At night it dims to 0.3 nits. The interface also adapts to distance. It shows simple information from across the room and more detail as you walk closer.

Where to Buy Apple HomeView

You can preorder Apple HomeView right now from Apple and from Amazon. Both the tabletop and wall-mounted models cost $299. Both ship on Friday, November 13, 2026.

OptionColorsPriceShips
TabletopSilver, starlight, rose pink, space gray$299November 13
Wall-mountedSpace gray, silver$299November 13

Each tabletop unit comes with a color-matched USB-C cable. The wall-mounted model uses the same display, speakers and features, but you need a Schneider Home mount to hang it.

Apple HomeView Mounts and Accessories

Mounts are sold separately. Apple lists three options so far.

  • Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector: $59.95, preorder now.
  • Power Mount AC Wired: $79.95, preorder now.
  • Power Mount PoE Wired: $129.95, due in early 2027.

Reports differ on one detail. One source says the wall-mounted model drops the woofer and passive radiators. Other outlets list it with the same price and no such difference. Check Apple’s product page before you buy.

Apple HomeView Sound: What Is Inside the Speaker?

Apple HomeView packs two full-range drivers in the display. It adds a down-firing woofer and two passive radiators in the base. It supports Spatial Audio. Computational tuning adjusts bass at any volume.

It plays Apple Music with animated album art and lyrics. It also supports Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV and third-party audio and video apps. In addition, it pairs with other HomeViews, HomePods and AirPlay speakers for multiroom audio.

Apple HomeView as a Smart Home Hub

Apple HomeView controls lights, thermostats, locks and blinds by touch or Siri AI. Its Home Camera view can livestream up to nine camera feeds at once. It also adds FaceTime, messages and photos.

It works with Apple Home and Matter accessories. It also works with the new Apple Home Collection. That is a lineup of cameras, thermostats and a lock built with LG and Schneider Electric. Apple says the collection arrives in December, with some products in early 2027.

Apple also says Home app data is end-to-end encrypted. According to reports, that means Apple, LG and Schneider cannot read it.

Who Should Buy Apple HomeView?

  • Apple households: If you already use iPhone, HomePod and Apple Home, HomeView fits right in.
  • Matter users: Matter support means many third-party gadgets should work.
  • Kitchen and bedside users: The tilting screen and dimming display suit counters and nightstands.

Who Should Wait for Reviews?

  • First-time smart home buyers: A cheaper speaker may be enough.
  • Android households: The experience is built around Apple’s ecosystem.
  • Buyers in the EU: One report says the EU is excluded at launch.
  • Anyone who wants proof: Early reviews will show how well Siri AI works day to day.

We have not tested Apple HomeView. Our summary comes from Apple’s announcement and early coverage.

Apple HomeView vs Other Smart Displays

CNN says HomeView fills a gap for Apple users who have wanted something like the Echo Show or Nest Hub inside their own ecosystem. Engadget calls it Apple’s rival to Amazon’s Echo Show. Neither outlet gave a side-by-side price or spec comparison, so we do not claim one here.

Apple HomeView and the Bigger AI Home Trend

Apple HomeView is built around Siri AI. That fits a wider trend toward AI that lives in your home and on your devices.
