This is one of my favorite books because it goes slightly against the traditional way of getting rich such as investing for a long time. Instead, MJ DeMarco talks about providing real value to the masses, starting a business, and getting literally to the fast lane of gaining wealth. He also talks about the two other lanes, the slow lane, and the side lane, which are eye-openers. I think this book would be especially beneficial for beginners because it gives the mindset needed to succeed in business instead of the step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

The book focuses on the importance of creating a successful business by using continuous innovation. This is done by constantly testing new ideas and theories to find what works and what doesn’t. The book also provides helpful case studies and real-world examples to illustrate these concepts, making it a valuable resource for beginners. Most business books focus on boring theoretical aspects of business, which will spin a beginner’s head. On the other hand, this book is readable, relatable, and highly actionable. If you want to learn how to create a successful business from scratch, I recommend reading this book.

I have personally read this book and was not disappointed, starting from page 1 to page 243 (last page). It walks you through the two most important “engines” of being a business owner. First is the Head – knowledge, technical and hard skills every business owner needs. Second is the Heart – passion, soft skills with the right dose of faith. With the perfect balance of the Head and the Heart, this book will not just teach you how to kickstart your business. But how to build a successful business with a heart. Passion without skills is nothing; skills without passion won’t work either. YOU MUST HAVE BOTH. What I also love about this book is that it’s honest and sincere. Doing a business out of passion doesn’t always mean rainbows and unicorns. The authors told their fair share of experiences and harsh business truths they’ve encountered throughout their journey. So for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to take a good dip on how to build a truly rich business, this book is a must-read!

This book is chock-full of inspiring stories and helpful advice for anyone looking to start their own business. While it may not be the most comprehensive guide out there, it is certainly a great place to start. One of the things that makes this book so great for beginners is that it doesn’t try to overwhelm you with too much information. Instead, it provides a simple framework that you can follow to get your business up and running quickly and efficiently. There are few books that had a huge impact on my life and How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of them. While I recommend How to Win Friends and Influence People to someone starting out in the business world, I really recommend this book to everyone because it makes navigating life easier and more enjoyable. This book is especially good for business people because business is all about dealing with people and sales, which is about influencing people and Dale Carengie’s book helps you with both. This book is also simple to read and understand and apply the lessons. One of the easiest and most powerful lessons you can apply right away is to remember someone’s name and to call them by their name. This does not sound like a big deal but it’s hugely important because as Carengie says in the book, a person’s name is the sweetest sound they will ever hear. This book is so useful that I try to re-read it every few years. If you want to succeed in life and business, give this book a read.

When I first read this book, there was absolutely nothing like it. The personal development space can be incredibly buzzwordy at times. Concepts from pop psychology are taken at face value and marketed over and over again as “universal principles” that leaders and entrepreneurs should abide by. This book did the opposite. Instead of jumping on every leadership trend and slogan, it focuses on the timeless principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. I have read the book many times and each time, I learn something new. It’s a book that grows with you because you understand it at a different level as you gain business experience.

Personally, I think a sense of passion and purpose comes from undertaking the journey itself, not at the end of it. It’s not about what you intend to accomplish. It’s how you set out to accomplish it and make an impact on yourself, the people around you, and the world in the process. This book perfectly mirrors that sentiment of mine and tells it from the point of view of ordinary people working towards their personal goals.

There have been alot of business practices that have fallen in and out of favor (looking at you Six Sigma) the creators of EOS realize this which is why their Entrepreneurial Operating System was developed with a more holistic business view. I think this is a great book that explains the principles and processes BUT it’s not a leadership book. It’s more of a practical manual that every member of the team can (and should) read to understand their role in the company. Even if you’re not going to be an EOS-driven company there is still some great information here around creating a relational office environment.

As an entrepreneur, I have always been curious about IRAs and taxes so I am going to share a book that has expanded my mind about the topic and taught me how to use it profitably. The book by Josh Scandien entitled The Tax Bomb In Your Retirement Accounts: How The Roth IRA Helps You Avoid It (Scandlen Sustainable Wealth Series Book 2) is really an eye-opener for me. It has expanded my mind on taxes and how I can benefit from them. Taxes can be very confusing, especially when taking out money from your IRA. Hence, it is very important to correctly strategize your taxes, loans, and other taxable payments in order to maximize your IRA. Only when an individual learns to strategize taxes financially can they gain something out of it, otherwise, they will just become milking cows on paying tons of taxes. This book will help you answer your burning questions about taxes but help you understand everything about it too. Aside from that, it will help you with your tax strategy game in order to win in life.

New business owners should realize that people won’t truly buy into a product, service, or idea until they understand the WHY behind it. New business owners can use this book to motivate themselves and learn to question themselves, “Why am I doing this?” ‘and understand why they wish to continue. In addition, they must understand the fundamentals of effective leadership through motivating others and effectively articulating the ‘why’ to others. With these elements in place, the firm will thrive and succeed.”
