As Head of Trends, Jason oversees all of GWI’s content – producing trends on key digital topics and authoring the company’s flagship quarterly reports on social networking, mobiles, tablets and wearables. Jason also manages the Market Report series – analyzing trends in each of the 32 countries surveyed by GlobalWebIndex – and has released a number of Audience Reports examining behaviors and attitudes among high-interest target groups such as Teens, Influencers and Parents. He is a regular public speaker, a blogger for the Huffington Post and a frequent contributor to articles, new stories and TV coverage across such titles as BBC News, the Guardian, Bloomberg and NBC. Prior to this, Jason was Head of Insight at Future Foundation; during his time there, he launched the company’s US service, oversaw its Beyond 2020 innovation series, managed its Quant, Intelligence and Forecasting departments and served as an Account Director for a number of global brands. Jason first began working with trends as a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. Building on a PhD in the Social Sciences, he published a book through Cambridge University Press, presented at a number of international conferences and visited more than 100 different cities for the purposes of his research.

During this time he has held senior positions in several major sell-side and buy-side financial institutions in a variety of roles encompassing macroeconomic research, FX portfolio management and investment strategy. In addition to being partner and Head of Research in Amareos Ltd, Ryan is Managing Director of Black Swan Economics Consultants Ltd (BSEC), a global macro advisory company established in 2013. Prior to this he was Head of Macroeconomic Research for the Fixed Income Department of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority in the UAE. Robert Muir-Wood

Robert works to enhance approaches to natural catastrophe modeling, identify models for new areas of risk, and explore expanded applications for catastrophe modeling. Recently, he has been focusing on identifying the potential locations and consequences of magnitude 9 earthquakes worldwide. In 2012, as part of Mexico’s presidency of the G20, he helped promote government usage of catastrophe models for managing national disaster risks. Robert has more than 20 years of experience developing probabilistic catastrophe models. He was lead author for the 2007 IPCC 4th Assessment Report and 2011 IPCC Special Report on Extremes, is a member of the Climate Risk and Insurance Working Group for the Geneva Association, and is vice-chair of the OECD panel on the Financial Consequences of Large Scale Catastrophes. He is the author of six books, as well as numerous papers and articles in scientific and industry publications. He holds a degree in natural sciences and a PhD in Earth sciences, both from Cambridge University.
