With a fresh set of challenges ahead for everyone in the Capital, LABS is offering available space within its office buildings across Camden and Holborn for the healthcare and education sectors to use during this time of need.
In coordination with Camden Council, LABS is offering space as a potential vaccination centre location, in a bid to support the mass rollout of the vaccine and ease capacity on the NHS as coronavirus cases continue to rise.
Recognising the pressure on education professionals and teaching heroes, LABS is also offering complimentary private meeting room access to local teachers in the Borough to support their continuation of teaching if they are unable to do this from home. The meeting rooms are equipped with technology infrastructure to enable seamless connectivity and virtual learning and the buildings have extensive health measures in place to ensure it is a safe space at all times. Bike storage facilities ensure anyone needing the meeting rooms are able to do so safely by foot or bike. LABS has capacity across its eight sites in Camden and Holborn to help the cause.
This call to action follows in the footsteps of last year’s initiative which saw LABS Camden House and STAY serviced apartments transform into emergency safe spaces and accessible accommodation for those on the front line.
With the news of another national lockdown, once again, STAY in Hawley Wharf, Camden is working with local trusts to allocate bedrooms for key workers needing accommodation to protect household members who are vulnerable. The apartments, which each have a fully fitted kitchen and living room as well as access to much-needed laundry facilities, provide a quiet sanctuary for those to rest.
The offering will last for the initial lockdown period, and the teams will continue to work with all parties to support with space and beds where the cause requires it.
