Dr. Yu’s research interests include computer vision, computer graphics and application of machine learning to these areas, particularly in Imageideo processing and recognition, human computer interaction, human behaviour understanding, affective analysis and geometric processing of human/facial performances. His work on facial and human analysis has led to successful collaboration with top scientists and other national organizations. The 4D facial expression synthesis system he developed with colleagues has been used by many wold renowned research labs and institutions including Caltech, Princeton University, University of Montreal and Geneva University and so on.
