Pat was appointed to the Huntsworth Board as Independent Non-Executive Director on 1 December 2015, and is a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. Following an early career with HM Revenue and Customs, Pat joined Ernst & Young, the multinational professional services firm, and was a partner from 1995 to 2012. Whilst at Ernst & Young Pat obtained broad experience in various sectors and also performed a range of executive duties within the firm. Pat currently holds non-executive directorships with RenaissanceRe Syndicate Management Limited, the managing agent for a Lloyd’s of London insurance syndicate; Aldwyck Housing Group, a registered social landlord where she also chairs their Audit and Remuneration, and Governance committees, and Exemplas Limited, a leading business support, skills and employment solutions provider. Jayne is the Conservative Prospective Assembly Member for Cardiff North. A City Councillor representing the residents of Rhiwbina since 1999, and has been elected every term since. She is one of the longest serving female Councillors on Cardiff County Council. In 2011/12 She was one of the youngest Deputy Lord Mayor’s of Cardiff which involved meeting many groups and addressing them – often adapting at short notice to the nature of the event. She has attended over 100 formal events and helped raise £60,000 for Cancer Research Wales with the Lord Mayor. Jayne has set up a cross party mentoring programme for Cardiff Council and support a number of Councillors in their day to day work. Furthermore, has spoken on a number of occasions to local groups in Cardiff North such as Women’s Institutes about her role as Deputy Lord Mayor. She has recently been appointed as the Regional Co-ordinator for Project Paddington.

I am a research in HCI (Human Computer Interaction), currently a Leverhulme Trust fellow in the Bristol Interaction and Graphics group (UK). I spent two years at the Hasso Plattner Institute (Germany) and did my Ph.D at Telecom ParisTech group (France). I believe future interactive devices will vary in form factors and technologies. My research aims at shaping the software and hardware of these future devices. In particular, I focus on non-planar and self-actuated devices. I studied touch on spherical surfaces, I built a force feedback touchscreen that translates the user’s finger and I currently design shape changing flexible devices. My research approach is a blend of theory, experimentation, and software/hardware design. Through my work, I intent to help designers create the best possible interfaces and devices we will soon have in our hands.

Since 2010, Patrick has led Heavy Reading’s research in network security.
