Eric was also a founding board member of eGroups, acquired by Yahoo! in 2000. In the 1980s he worked in the semiconductor and EDA industry in Silicon Valley, most notably with VLSI Technology Inc. Eric is one of the founders of Social-Impact, a professional development programme helping social entrepreneurs worldwide to increase their social impact and reach their full potential. Before taking on his role as Vice President, Dimitris Tsitsiragos was the Director of the Middle East, North Africa and Southern Europe department in IFC, where he developed a strategy to support the region’s private sector in the wake of the Arab Spring. During his tenure, he oversaw several important initiatives, including the education for employment (e4e) in the Arab World program, which brings together public and private providers of education and private companies to improve the quality of education in the region. Dimitris Tsitsiragos also helped launch the Arab Financing Facility for Infrastructure, which supports much-needed infrastructure projects and kick-started a facility expected to channel over $500 million to smaller businesses in the Middle East and North Africa region. Dimitris Tsitsiragos has extensive experience in several sectors including manufacturing and oil & gas. Prior to joining the Middle East and North Africa region, he directed the Global Manufacturing and Services (GMS) department of IFC which was responsible for IFC’s activities in the areas of tourism, retail and property development; construction materials; the forest products chain; life sciences; and energy-efficient machinery. During his time with GMS, Dimitris Tsitsiragos refined the strategic focus of the department, emphasizing IFC’s global expertise in select sectors, thus helping IFC clients to increase their international competitiveness. In addition to his experience in the Middle East and North Africa, Dimitris Tsitsiragos has worked in South Asia, and Central and Eastern Europe, where he held several leadership positions. He spent two years based in New Delhi as IFC’s Director of the South Asia department, where he doubled commitments for the region in all sectors; doubled IFC’s portfolio in India; and significantly improved regional profitability as a result of decreased non-performing assets and the successful execution of an equity divestiture strategy. Reinfeldt reinvented the Moderate Party (centre- right) creating the New Moderates and entered into an alliance with three other centre and centre-right parties. The four-party alliance won two successive elections and Reinfeldt, as Prime Minister, presided over two coalition governments (2006-14) – the longest non-socialist government period in modern Sweden. During his time as Prime Minister, Reinfeldt reformed the Swedish economy and labour market, making Sweden one of the most competitive countries in Europe. More than 300,000 new jobs were created despite the financial crisis. The Swedish economy had higher growth rates and sounder public finances than many other European countries during his time in office. Sweden was also the only country in the EU that lowered its national debt during the financial crisis. Reinfeldt was elected as chair to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in 2016. The EITI is a coalition of stakeholders from government, civil society, oil, gas and mining companies and investors, working together to promote open and accountable management of natural resources. Over the past decade, they developed the EITI Standard, which is now implemented by 49 countries around the world. In 2016 Reinfeldt was also appointed as a senior adviser at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
